Hey, I know that there are a few of us with narcissistic mothers (and I totally get why not everyone wants to post about it) so I thought I’d drop back in and say that I finished Adult Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers by Stephanie M. Kriesberg.
It was a really useful book, but definitely one that I had to read slowly and keep coming back to.…[Read more]

It was only through starting my peaceful parenting journey that I realised that my mother is a narcissist. I’ve commented on this on the thread called The Mother Wound in the past.
I feel like even though I’ve been aware of this for a while, and saying I needed to find out more, I haven’t really had the strength to. Like all narcissists I guess…[Read more]

Victoria Maus replied to the topic Using EFT Tapping to turn off the fight or flight response and reduce anxiety in the forum Self-healing 2 years, 4 months ago
Just wanted to come back to this and say that I upgraded the Tapping Solution app and I’m getting so much out of it! I’m currently listening to Nick Ortner’s first book through the app and doing at least two tapping meditations every day. Just having access to all of the audiobooks makes the app worth the money for me.
I’m amazed at the range o…[Read more]

I know this is an old thread, but thank you for sharing this link Genevieve. I have a close friend who is currently navigating a difficult divorce and she is, understandably, concerned about how this is affecting her two year old son.

I did share it with my daughters a few days ago, and I’m encouraging my ten year old to try it when she wakes in the night. She seems to go through phases of not sleeping well at the moment (I wonder whether the onset of puberty is around the corner) and at the moment she’s waking a couple of times a night and struggling to fall asleep aga…[Read more]

Hi Jenni,
I think you’re probably right that your friend’s anxiety levels might be linked, that would have been my first thought too. I’m guessing that you’ve already talked to her about some ways to centre herself before connecting with the kids.
Like you said, it’s not really surprising that her 5 year is having these tics. What a year it h…[Read more]

I downloaded The Tapping Solution app yesterday and I’ve tried three different tapping meditations on it now. It did help me to feel more positive and more energised! I like to meditate anyway, although the habit has fallen away over the past year, so this feels like meditation with a bit extra.
I’m new to EFT, having only read it about it aft…[Read more]

Yes….I have been so concerned about this recently with all the 5G chatter. It made me realise how much my phone is preset with me. All day. I don’t have a wired connection so rely on my phone or tethering it to my laptop. Not great. I have started putting it on flight mode all day with just a few message checks. I feel a lot better.
I bought a…[Read more] -

Wow that sounds like a lot of stuff! Thanks for sharing. There are a few things I would look at. The antibiotic point seems worth addressing. I would probably recommend seeing a naturopath / homeopath definitely NOT a allopathic doctor to look at possible detox, gut health etc.
The sleeping in his own room, I would ask if she’d consider putting a…[Read more] -

Hey Avih
I read your intro. Wow, sounds like a lot to experience. You are standing in your truth, you are ceasing the trauma that passes through the generations, and that is amazing. I think facing adversity comes with the territory! It doesn’t make it any easier to deal with though. The changes you have made have rippled through the people you…[Read more] -

Just adding this for anyone else who reads this thread for support… my daughters asked if we could create a family tree (after I’d mentioned I needed to speak to my great-aunt about the funeral – they couldn’t figure out how she was related to them).
We spent ages yesterday drawing out our family tree and I spoke to them about their…[Read more]

Thank you @anngettis, the idea of journal we can continually add to is lovely. I imagine the one you have for your son is such a comfort. I like the idea of creating one to honour all of my grandparents – my daughters only knew two of them and so I’d love to share photos and memories with them.
Thank you @peacefulparent, I’ll read that article…[Read more]

My Grandad passed away last week. He was 87 and hadn’t been in good health for a while, so his passing was semi-expected even if I wasn’t really prepared for it. My daughters (ages 7 and 10) visited him regularly with me, so whilst dealing with my own grief I’m obviously concerned for them as well. They said they were sad the day after he passed…[Read more]
