Christy, it is lovely to hear what you and your partner are doing. What I am hearing is that safety is building for your son and when you bring the limit of time ending after some nice connection, some old feelings are pouring out. Sometimes it’s a simple matter of tweaking our perspective on what is actually going on.
If you come from the angle…[Read more] -

My husband and I have difficulty meeting my oldest son’s (almost 8 years old) connection needs. He needs a lot of adult connection from my husband and I. Our youngest (5 years old) and him play together, but our oldest prefers to play with my husband or I. We work hard to give him some one on one time daily, but my husband works late and they…[Read more]

Hi Christy, I thought I’d replied a few days ago, sorry for the delay…it must have not got past the inside of my head!
You are doing everything right, from your description. It’s wonderful that you and your partner play with your boys and I hear it’s never enough for your eldest.
What is happening when you apply the limit of ‘no more’ is he is…[Read more]

Hi all,
Welcome back.We are aware some people are a little concerned about being a little behind in getting to the content. Just jump in with this week and look back at the previous weeks as you feel you need to.

RE ACTIVITY FEED: Some of you may have noticed that this activity feed wasn’t available for the last day. We were just experimenting to see if this would make it easier to navigate. So just be aware that the activity below doesn’t include any activity since Thursday morning (1.5 days ago).

Is anybody out there from Central Coast, Australia? Would love to find someone around for active ‘listening times’ who is also interesting in PP philosophy. š

Hi all,
I know how busy everyone is at this time of the year. I have updated the materials for Week 2 – Centre to include a QuickStart with suggestions of a few tasks (in order) that you could try if time is short and you need to prioritise. If you don’t get to it, please do not let this add to your stress. Do what you can, glance at the…[Read more]

Hi- so we watched the week one videos/ did workbook last night- would you think stick with week one for a few days and then look at week two or do week two tomorrow night?
-
Whatever works for you Lucy. š
Week 2 looks at Centering in more depth so I don’t think it would hurt to move on as it is building on the week 1 content in more depth. But likewise if you feel like you want more time that’s fine too.

Have some of you checked out this pdf in your Week One’s material page? It’s a really useful chart highlighting the importance of the approach to centre, then connect, then communicate. Or work backwards, if the communication isn’t working, come back to connecting, and if connection isn’t working, come back to getting centred:…[Read more]

Hi I’m Jacqueline and I live in Perth WA. I have a 4 year old daughter Ruby and I am very interested in learning some peaceful parenting skills. Having grown up in Ireland one of 10 children where discipline was implemented with stern words and “the look” I decided I didn’t want to parent that way (even though my Mam did a great job & I’m not…[Read more]

Thanks Wendy! I think that he definitely needs to get through the backlog. I started out as a peaceful parent, but adding another child, taking courses for my masters, working full time, and having my husband work late hours turned me into super stressed Mommy. I have been working very hard for a while to turn things around. My oldest sensed…[Read more]
