Reduce stress/ anxiety by stimulating the vagus nerve

      Every parent knows how powerful singing can be for helping children feel happy, safe, secure and connected. This little video gives you some insight into one of the reasons why singing and humming are so calming, basically because it stimulates the vagus nerve which in turn helps take the body out of fight flight (sympathetic nervous system response) back to rest and digest (parasympathetic nervous system response). This video also gives another couple of simple techniques to release stress which you can likely do with your child, or at least model to them.
