I really love the toolbox video in this unit. I really love the difference between response A and response B. It has helped me so much with my own 3 year old!! I now realise, from watching this video, that my responses were coming more from my head than my heart. I have now moved more to coming from the heart with a much heavier emphasis on empathy and the difference this has made is absolutely incredible! Thank you so much for this video, Genevieve! Tawnie I’m SO delighted that you’ve got the suss on this, it really does make the world of difference! Our children have such sensitive radars for whether we’re connecting with them from the heart or the head, when they’re emotional and stressed, only a heart response will hit the spot. Just like with us adults when we’re upset or distressed really. An analytical response is rarely very satisfying! We need to see feel and hear that the other person is feeling for us, is getting us! Go you and thank you so much for sharing! These little tweaks make the world of difference.
