Welcome to our Discipline without Punishment eCourse!!

Many parents sense, or perhaps even know very deeply, that using punishments, threats and reward systems and enforcing consequences doesn’t align with their values and isn’t modelling the ways they want their child to respond to others when challenges arise.  In fact, many realise that using punishments and threats teach children through modelling that this is what THEY should do when others don’t do what they want them to do!

Punishments backfire and lead to endless conflicts in the family.

Like so many parents who have you’ve committed to working through this course, you’ve likely come to the realisation that motivating children’s behaviour using punishments, threats, bribes and rewards don’t work well and ultimately backfires resulting in a LOT of conflicts and defiance!

It’s all too easy to pendulum swing between being authoritarian (demanding) then collapsing into being permissive! You feel powerless when your child doesn’t seem to listen and pushes back or just ignores you, frustrations build up, then you become stern and demand your child listens to you! And then you get exhausted with the ensuing battles or notice that your child has shut down and is much less affectionate and chirpy, so you sort of give up holding limits or expectations and becoming overly permissive.
