Tonight, as a result of the build up of the stress from the day, and general tiredness, when the boys were bouncing on the bed being silly with their hotties, instead of joining in and falling about laughing I got really cross and scared my 6yo and hurt his feelings…why is it so hard to just JOIN IN? I was worried my 2 year old next door w…[Read more]

Something i find really challenging is when one or both of my boys run away from me when we are out and about, particularly when i ask them to do something they don’t want to do. It makes me feel so powerless. And judged. Like others are looking and thinking how undisciplined they are. Plus I worry about the times when they might be in real danger…[Read more]

Hi everyone, I introduced myself to the may eCourse group but will do again here briefly as I am one finger typing due to keyboard issues!
I am married to Alby, who, thankfully, has come around to peaceful parenting after my persistent summarising of what I read on Gen’s website, or got from talking with her…and we have three wonderful…[Read more]

Ok, me again…i have noticed in the last while, perhaps since my husband when away, that my eldest is really struggling with not getting everything my other children get. For example if i buy something for my 4yo my 6yo gets upset if he doesn’t get one too. it came to a head on my 4yo birthday, when he obviously got a lot of presents. my 6yo…[Read more]

I am currently struggling with my 6yo taking things out of the kitchen (Berrocca, kichen treats like small packs of mints that he has asked me to buy for his lunchbox) and hiding them / eating them in his bedroom. Sometimes he will partially show me. Today when I asked for something back he first denied he had it, so i said i was disappointed as i…[Read more]

Another thing i get frustrated with in the evenings is when they want to drink gallons of water – they are both out of nappies at night but just, only just, getting into sleeping all night without wetting the bed. I have talked with them about drinking lots during the day, and say ’last drinks’ at dinner (which they have suggested) – and they do…[Read more]

There are several ’flashpoints’ for me at the moment, a classic example is bedtime. I struggle with this expectation that once I say that there are x minutes before we need to be in bed that the boys will just go about getting their pjs and brushing their teeth (or hop into the bath, if a bath night) without protest and even willingly. When I am…[Read more]
