So, I thought this was going to be challenging. I’m still struggling to keep up (I’m not at all!). I’ve digressed already.
I’ll be honest, I’ve spent a fair amount of time and money in therapy and feel pretty happy with the work I’ve done. However, I wasn’t prepared for how this course was going to effect me. It’s brought all kinds of things to the surface from my own childhood and it’s actually bloody hard! I’ve only managed to look at weeks 1-3. Who knows what the remaining weeks will unlock?!
It’s a good thing to confront these feelings but it’s a very emotional process. I don’t want to get bogged down in my stuff because the aim is to focus on my relationship with my son.
The big kickers for me so far have been the crying and how this wasn’t really accepted growing up and also the lack of empathy or being listened to properly. It’s made me quite sad.
I’m not trying to get free therapy here but I wondered if anyone else had experienced this?
      Thanks

      Hi Kelly,
I just saw your introduction in the Village forum. Glad you’ve made your way back again and that as you say you knew where to seek support when the next level of tough challenges has hit and boy have you guys had big challenges of late. Did yourself and Rick get a chance to watch the zoom call recording together? Was that helpful for him too? I know you got lots out of it. And I also know that putting the theory into practice takes a LOT of rewiring of the brain, lots of trial and error and focus. All hard when exhausted hey! Anyway, glad you’re here and maybe you can slowly when you’re ready pick up from where you left off with the Step by Step eCourse.
