Bully Proof your Kids workshop

Thursday 21st May 7pm - 9pm.
Cost:  $30 per person and $40 per couple for general public. Early Impressions parents;  $20 per person or $30 per couple.

It can be heart breaking for a parent to see their child being hurt or mistreated by other children, whether it’s between siblings, in kindy or at school, that mama bear instinct tends to kick in with a strong urge to protect. And yet we also know that we can’t prevent our child from ever having an experience of mistreatment, as much as we wish we could.  This workshop focuses on the skills that a parent can help their child develop, so they can better express their boundaries, their feelings and their needs. We can equip our child with the vocabulary and some clarity about their rights in difficult situations.

  1. Hi Genevieve, Please elt me know when you will have workshops or conference presentations coming up. I work as an Autism specialist and I am passionate about bringing peaceful approaches to the children I work with when the Behavioural approach dominates the “eveidence base” for practice. Keep up the good work, Arohanui, Andrea

    • Kia Ora Andrea, where are you based? I’ll be running two one day workshops in August (still being organized) in Auckland. Are you on my mailing list? Just put your email into any page on this site and you’ll then be sure to hear about any public courses or seminars that I’m running. Do you work for an organization and might they consider booking me to come and do some professional development with the team?

  2. Hi, I am unable to join the parenting e course on 26 June because I will be away for a good portion of the course. Can you advise when the next e course will run this year?
    Many thanks.

    • Alice, it’s up to you whether you want to join this one or one at a later date. I don’t know how much time you would be away for, but I wonder if maybe you could print out the workbooks relevant to that week/ those weeks and chip away on the material when you have a few minutes here and there. Otherwise, you could step out and just jump back in to that week’s material and then catch up on what you’ve missed out at a later date. There’s no pressure at all from our part in terms of how much a participant keeps up, and knowing how it is in the world of parenting and juggling everything else in life, I’ve designed it in such a way that you have a whole year of access to the material, and access to the Village Green and special interest groups for 6 months so you can still access that more personalised responses from myself and the mentors after the course ends.

I can’t say now when the next one will begin, I tend to follow the level of interest, and when a few people have expressed interest I set a date for the next one.
