    • Peaceful Partnering
You may have noticed that a lot of the peaceful parenting communication skills which you've been reading about can also be applied to adult relationships with positive effects (sometimes!). Active listening, maintaining connection while expressing boundaries, expressing requests instead of demands, problem solving with an open mind to all possible solutions and perspectives, seeking to make and maintain agreements - are ways of relating which can help to avoid or transform conflicts or breakdowns of communication in adult relationships. And like PP, managing strongly evoked emotions and being centred enough to communicate more effectively brings us back to our personal development work, which is why self-healing is an important aspect of peaceful parenting or more peaceful communication with your partner, friends or extended family members.
